FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about the check, ownership, the report and onward routing.

What does BatteryCentr do?
We check used EV battery packs, give each one a grade and a written report, and route it to its best next use: repair, reuse, second life or certified recycling. See how the check works.
Is BatteryCentr a marketplace?
More than that. We reroute packs, either on your request or as your testing partner: we test each pack, recommend its next use and forward it to a matching party in our own network.
What does a check cost?
The check is priced per step: screening for every pack, a BMS read-out for packs that are safe to test, and a cycle test only when it is ordered. Buyers pay a routing fee per pack they take. Prices are confirmed per batch.
Where does the testing take place?
At testing partners in our network, where packs already pass through, such as a dismantler, workshop or collection point, or at dedicated test sites.
Which batteries do you check?
Complete EV traction packs. Tell us the make, chemistry and quantity and we will confirm the check scope for your packs.
What is in the report? Is it a certificate?
The report covers identity, screening, BMS data, measured capacity when a cycle test was ordered, the grade, the recommended route and the limits of the evidence. It is structured along EN 18061:2025. It is a BatteryCentr test record, not a statutory certification or a lifetime guarantee.
What happens to packs that fail?
A damaged or critical pack goes to quarantine after screening and gets no further tests. A pack graded bad is routed to parts recovery or certified recycling, and that decision is documented as well.
I buy used packs. How does it work for me?
Tell us your application and minimum requirements. We offer you graded packs that match, and you buy directly from the holder. You pay a routing fee per pack you take and can order cycle tests when you need measured capacity. See for buyers.
Where is BatteryCentr based?
BatteryCentr is based in Lucerne, Switzerland.
